    Herschel Select XLS White Infrared Panels can be wall mounted using the template provided. Simply drill into the wall and fit the EasyFix brackets. If you’re mounting the panels on the ceiling, they must be professionally hardwired with the plug removed. By purchasing the optional feet, you can also have the Select XLS as a free-standing infrared panel, which is a great way to receive temporary or seasonal warmth. Attach the feet to the heater and plug the Select XLS into the nearest socket to experience comfortable warmth.

    Herschel Select XLS panels are suitable for use in bathrooms, provided they are hardwired by a professional electrician in an appropriate location. These panels are IP44 rated, which means they are protected against splashes of water and can be fitted in Zones 2 and 3, provided the controls cannot be reached from the bath or shower. The BT Battery Powered Thermostat and MT Mains Powered Thermostat are the best option for bathroom installation and should be kept in Zone 3. Always defer to the manufacturer’s guidelines about the bathroom suitability of any product.

    You will need to install a thermostat to control the heat output of your panel, ensuring your rooms stay at the right temperature without wasting energy. A thermostat with programming functionality will also allow you to schedule your heating, helping you save energy by heating only occupied rooms. The Herschel Select XLS has three different compatible thermostats and they can all be wall mounted or free standing.

Herschel Select XLS Mirror heaters are a perfect addition to any room. When fitted in the bathroom the heated glass surface of the panel acts as a demister, ensuring the glass is always clear for use, despite condensation. In moisture ridden bathrooms, the radiant heat of a Select XLS mirror panel can reduce dampness and stop water vapour from settling on your walls. The far infrared heat that is used by the Select XLS is easily absorbed by walls and brickwork which then re-radiates back into the room, making it difficult for moisture to settle and dampness to take hold. The internal insulation layer built into these mirror panels ensures that all the heat produced is sent forwards into the room, improving on efficiency.

Thermostats

Herschel Select XLS infrared panels offer variety in more ways than one. With an in-built SMART-R receiver on the back of the heater you can easily connect to Herschel’s XLS control system using one of the following thermostats:

  • BT Battery Powered Thermostat
  • PL Plug-in Thermostat
  • MT Mains Powered Thermostat

All three thermostats deliver manual control and can be wall mounted or portable depending on your preference.

The BT Battery Powered Thermostat comes with manual control and is quick and easy to set up. As it runs on batteries, this portable device does not have to be hardwired, which is especially ideal for bathroom installations. For more advanced control, the MT Mains Powered WiFi Thermostat and the PL Plug-in WiFi Thermostat both come with manual control and WiFi control via an app so that you can manage your heating no matter where you are in the world. These two thermostats are also compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Home giving you the option of voice controlled, hands-free heat management.

If you purchase Herschel Select XLS panels and you already have an existing control system, then there is a receiver bypass option that enables you to wire the panel into an alternate system. This is the perfect option if you already have other Herschel products or would like to mix and match your heaters.
