The Herschel Select XLS Glass Towel Rail can only be wall mounted. Hardwiring into the mains is not a DIY job, this must be done by a professional. If you’re thinking of installing your glass panel in the bathroom, you will need to have it hardwired by a qualified electrician in an appropriate location. These panels are IP44 rated, which means they are protected against splashes of water and can be fitted in Zones 2 and 3, provided the controls cannot be reached from the bath or shower. Always defer to the manufacturer’s guidelines about the bathroom suitability of any product.
You will need to install a thermostat to control the heat output of your panel, ensuring your bathroom stays at the right temperature without wasting energy. A thermostat with programming functionality will also allow you to schedule your heating, helping you save energy by heating only occupied rooms. The Herschel Select XLS Glass Towel Rail is compatible with the BT Battery Powered and MT Mains Powered Thermostats. The BT Battery Powered Thermostat can be wall mounted or free standing, whereas the MT Mains Powered Thermostat must be hardwired by a professional when installed in a bathroom. Both thermostats must be kept in Zone 3.
