This large, 3200w version of the Ecostrad Thermostrip is designed for commercial use only and must be hardwired by a professional electrician so they can advise on the best wiring setup to avoid overloading your ring main.
The Ecostrad Thermostrip infrared heater can be wall or ceiling mounted using the fixtures and fittings provided. Please ensure that the heater is mounted as per the manufacturer’s guidelines: no lower than 2.1m from the floor and at least 50cm away from any adjacent walls. If wall mounted, the Thermostrip should always be horizontally level with its control panel aligned to the left. The front face of the Thermostrip reaches high temperatures and in all instances it should never be installed where there is risk of physical contact with the heater. Newer models of the Ecostrad Thermostrip have larger brackets, which increases the mounting distance from 160mm to 200mm.
Though infrared radiant heat is not affected by the movement of air, the sensation of far infrared can be offset by persistent gusts and breezes that may come in from open windows, doors or roller shutters. This is because wind-chill can cool your body quicker than the radiant heat will be able to replenish, so please bear these facts in mind when choosing an installation location for your heater.
In an indoor location, the Thermostrip can heat areas up to 24m² although this can be reduced to a minimum of 14m² if installed outside. For exposed outdoor locations or areas that are prone to gusts and breezes, a quartz infrared heater may be a better option.
This product has an IP65 rating which means it is resistant to low pressure jets of water and is dust-tight. This IP rating provides adequate protection from the elements but please be aware that the Thermostrip’s gentle heat is not effective in exposed locations.
Ecostrad Thermostrip patio heaters come with a 1 Year Manufacturer’s Warranty.

The Ecostrad Thermostrip is a subtle infrared heater that’s an excellent choice for a variety of commercial applications. Producing gentle far infrared heat, the Thermostrip’s high 3200w output can cover large commercial spaces while maintaining a comfortable level of warmth. The ideal choice for busy café seating areas or restaurant terraces, the Thermostrip’s sleek matt black exterior enables it to slip unnoticed into any environment.
This heater’s high 3200w output makes it an excellent fit for any lofty interior that’s difficult to keep warm using conventional means – whether it’s a high-ceilinged church or congregation area. The Thermostrip’s versatility doesn’t stop there. It can also be used for spot heating in sheltered outdoor spaces like restaurant terraces or hotel verandas. When multiple Thermostrip heaters are used together, you can achieve thorough coverage of almost any space and ensure patrons are kept toasty and warm.
Cutting-Edge Heating Technology
Beneath the Thermostrip’s matt black surface is a resistive wire element that heats up to produce far infrared heat – the same type of radiant heat produced by the human body. From cold start, the Thermostrip takes roughly 10 minutes to get to temperature and will provide comfortable all-day heating. If installed indoors, the Thermostrip has the potential to heat areas up to 24m² and can be used alongside other Thermostrip heaters to cover large interior spaces. It also produces no light when in operation, making it a particularly discreet option for commercial areas that want to maintain a relaxing ambience.
Our Thermostrip infrared heater comes with a 1 Year Manufacturer’s Warranty and has a hardy IP65 protection rating for ample weather resistance. No complex upkeep is necessary – just give the Thermostrip the occasional dust down to ensure it’s operating as effectively as possible. When installing the Thermostrip, please ensure that you choose a location where there is no risk of physical contact with the heater.
The Benefits of Infrared
No other heating method is as effective as infrared when it comes to comfort heating for spacious interiors because it doesn’t rely on the movement of air to be felt. Convection heaters that work by producing warm air currents can be incredibly inefficient as heat is easily lost through draughts and poor insulation. Infrared radiation doesn’t have this issue. It travels through the air to warm people, surfaces and objects directly so all heat is transferred straight from the source to the end user. It’s a much more effective way of heating spacious areas like large retail spaces, restaurants or meeting halls, as infrared can be zoned and directed to specific areas that are occupied frequently without wasting energywarming the entire room.
Ecostrad are an electric heating manufacturer that produce a diverse range of products, from infrared patio heaters to convection panel heaters. Their Thermostrip heater can be used in a wide range of applications and is an excellent choice for commercial spaces, whether in a hard-to-heat indoor environment or an outdoor patio area.
