This thermostat requires 2xAA batteries for operation and can be wall mounted DIY. Ideally, it should be fitted away from bright sunlight or draughts, which may skew temperature readings. Please be aware that radio interference can occur where the thermostat is installed near TVs or computers. The range of the thermostat’s frequency is 30m, taking into account any obstruction caused by walls and furniture.

All Salus receivers must be hardwired to the mains and to their respective heaters by a professional electrician. Receivers can accommodate multiple heaters provided they do not exceed a load of 16 Amps – the equivalent of 3680W in a 230V standard supply. The dimensions of each receiver are: 160x105x43mm (WxHxD).

The Salus RT510RF Wireless Thermostat should not be installed in bathrooms. Instead, it's advisable to place it in the next dry area, e.g. the hallway. If you want to control infrared panels in your bathroom, you will need to make sure the panel is wired into the receiver in a location which falls outside the “wet” bathroom zones – namely, at least 60cm away from any source of running or splashing water. Receivers must not be installed anywhere where there will be risk of water contact – whether by dripping, splashing, or touching with wet hands. If in doubt, do not install. Common sense should prevail.

Stylish, convenient and designed to keep your running costs low, the Salus RT510RF Wireless Digital Thermostat is an essential addition to any infrared heating system. Offering a multitude of energy-saving features and heat management options, it’s an excellent choice for applications large and small – from the average family abode to even multi-level office complexes.

This thermostat comes with four wireless receivers so any connected heaters can be controlled from a single point of use. Any adjustments you make via the thermostat are relayed to the receivers via radio frequency, completely removing the need – and the frustration – of individually programming your heaters.

Modes & Features

Fit your heating around your lifestyle with the Salus’ digital programming function. This feature allows you to create a bespoke heating schedule for every day of the week with six temperature intervals per day. A default heating schedule is provided but this can be easily changed to suit your own routine. Using a DIP switch on the back of the thermostat, you can choose between a 5-2 programming system, which allows you to create heating schedules for weekdays and weekends separately, or a 24hr system where each day is programmed individually.

The Salus RT510RF includes a range of other useful functions to make control effortless. Large, easy-read buttons on the face of the thermostat provide access to frost protection mode, which engages your heaters when temperatures fall below 5 °C, and holiday mode, which allows you to switch off your system for a period up to 31 days. If you want a little more warmth, the thermostat’s heat boost function gives you the freedom to set a new, temporary comfort temperature for a maximum period of 9 hours. Once time elapses, the thermostat will return to its normal schedule without altering your previous settings. A second DIP switch on the back of the thermostat allows temperature sensitivity to be toggled between a 0.25 or 0.5 °C degree of accuracy. The Salus RT510RF can control temperatures between 5 – 35 °C and comes with a 1 Year Manufacturer’s Warranty.

Wireless Receiver

This Salus wireless thermostat kit contains four pre-paired receivers for easy installation. Each receiver is able to control a single heater or multiple heaters providing they do not exceed a total of 16 Amps, which equates to 3680W in a standard 230V supply. One Salus thermostat will accommodate 4 receivers, so depending on the number of heaters in your system, it may be possible to use a single thermostat as a central controller. However, if you need to use more than 4 receivers, or if want to zone your heating (i.e. have separate heating schedules for different areas of the home) you will need to purchase additional thermostats. Each thermostat uses a different radio frequency, so if you do decide to use multiple thermostats within your home, there’s no risk of confusion between each signal and the receivers.

All receivers will need to be hardwired to the mains as well as to the heater or heaters they will control. The thermostat itself takes 2xAA batteries and can be wall mounted DIY with minimal effort. Or, if you prefer a freestanding fitting for your thermostat, you can also use the convenient desk stand supplied. Should you require an extra receiver without purchasing an additional thermostat, please get in touch with our Sales team directly for pricing and further information.
