The Herschel Summit can be wall or ceiling mounted using the brackets and accessories provided with the heater. Please ensure it is mounted as per the manufacturer’s guidelines: 2.1 – 2.7m from the floor and at least 300mm away from any adjacent surfaces. The Summit should never be installed any lower than 1.8m from floor level. The surface of the Summit reaches temperatures over 350 °C and in all instances should never be installed in a location where there is risk of physical contact with the heater. The Summit has a cable length of 2m and is not supplied with a plug.
The Summit should only be used in interiors where there is little air movement because wind-chill can offset the feeling of far infrared warmth. We do not recommend it for any location that is exposed to frequent draughts, e.g. beneath awnings, near roller shutters, doors or windows. For exposed outdoor locations or areas that are prone to gusts and breezes, a halogen heater will be a better option.
In an indoor location at 2.7m from floor level, the Summit can heat areas up to 16m², and at 2.1m from floor level will heat an area of 9m². Though the heated area decreases as it is brought closer to the floor, the heat given off by the Summit will intensify, so please take this into consideration when positioning your heaters.
This product has an IP65 rating which means it is resistant to low pressure jets of water and is completely dust tight. This IP rating provides adequate protection from the elements but please be aware that the Summit’s gentle heat is not effective in exposed locations.

Summit infrared heaters get to full temperature in less than 10 minutes so spaces can be warmed quickly and with minimal effort. Their matt black exteriors and lightweight aluminium housings provide areas with a zero-light heating solution that’s both stylish and discreet.
We stock remote and non-remote versions of the Summit, both of which support different levels of control. The remote Summit provides convenient heat management with the touch of a button - offering two output stages: 100% output for comfort heating, or 50% output for a gentle background level of heat. The remote Summit also provides users with a handy timer function to further restrict energy usage and prevent instances where the heater may be left on by accident.
The non-remote version of the Herschel Summit will heat at its maximum output when turned on and doesn’t support the timer function. This version of the Summit should be paired with a thermostatic controller for a precise means of managing comfort levels. Using a controller, you can change the temperature of the Summit, create a heating schedule, and split the heaters in your property into different zones that can be individually programmed.
