This thermostat will only connect to the SMART-R receivers on the back of Herschel Select XLS panels. It is not designed for use with any other infrared heaters. The PL thermostat can be used to control any number of Select XLS infrared panels.
This thermostat is designed for easy DIY fitting and simply plugs into a standard UK electrical socket. If used with a bathroom heater, it must be installed in the next dry area, e.g. the hallway. It must not be installed directly in bathrooms.

This plug-in thermostat is designed exclusively for use with Herschel Select XLS infrared panels and offers a quick and easy way to set up your heating system. All you have to do is plug this WiFi thermostat into a standard 3-pin socket, then pair it to your XLS infrared panel and the Smart Life app to start programming your heating.
The PL Thermostat’s WiFi capabilities allow you to program your heating on the move, no matter where you are in the world. All you need is an internet connection and a compatible mobile device. By downloading the Smart Life app to your phone or tablet, you can set hourly temperatures for your heaters 7 days a week, access holiday mode and a rundown timer. It also allows you to use your infrared panels with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant voice control for convenient, hands-free heat management.
Basic control is accessible via the control panel on the front of the thermostat, which allow you to turn individual heaters on or off, as well as set a basic 24-hour timer. The Herschel Select XLS PL Plug-in WiFi Thermostat can only be programmed via the app so will be better suited to those who only want to program their heaters via a smart device.
