This thermostat can be wall mounted DIY using the mounting plate and fittings provided. Each unit also comes with a stand if you prefer your thermostat to be free standing. Please ensure that the thermostat is placed in a location away from any hot or cold spots, and is at least 3m away from any heaters to be used with the system.
Be aware that radio interference can occur where the thermostat is installed near TVs or computers so it is advisable to install the thermostat at least 1m away from any electricals. The range of the thermostat’s frequency is 200m when unimpeded by walls and furniture.
Receivers can accommodate a maximum load of 10 Amps (2300W in a 230V standard supply), however, the manufacturer recommends a load of 8.5 Amps (1955W at 230V) if you will be using your infrared heaters continually. Installation must always be carried out by a professional electrician as each heater you use must be hard-wired to a receiver.
The T1 thermostat should not be hung in a bathroom. If you want to control panels in your bathroom, you will need to make sure the panel is wired into the receiver in a location which falls outside the “wet” bathroom zones – namely, at least 60cm away from any source of running or splashing water. Receivers must not be installed anywhere where there will be risk of water contact – whether by dripping, splashing, or touching with wet hands. If in doubt, do not install. Common sense should prevail.
All Herschel iQ units comes with a 1 Year Manufacturer’s Warranty. Please note: Building Regs (Part F) since 2006 require new or refurbished bathrooms to possess adequate ventilation (15 litres / second with 15 minute overrun). Where adequate ventilation

The iQ T1 Room Thermostat is a vital component if you want your home heating system to be as convenient to use and as energy efficient as possible. The iQ is compatible with any Herschel heater installed indoors and will transform the way you use your heating with its sophisticated wireless control.
This thermostat works by sending wireless signals to any heaters hard-wired into compatible iQ receivers. Whenever you make an adjustment to your heating through the thermostat, a radio signal is sent to the receivers, which relays this information to each wired-in heater. So, if you want to adjust your comfort temperature levels or your heating schedule, all you need to do is input your changes into the thermostat and all of the heaters in your home will be automatically updated with the new commands. By using a programmable thermostat, you can restrict your energy usage only to times when its needed and reduce the running costs of your heating by limiting heat levels.
Modes & Features
The iQ comes with a digital programming function allowing you to tailor your heating around your daily routine so your rooms are always the right temperature when you come to use them. Using the iQ’s intuitive interface, you can create a heating schedule for the working week and two separate routines for Saturday and Sunday. Within these schedules, four temperature intervals can be created which allow you to set start times and desired temperature levels for your heater.
Three manual overrides are accessible from the menu should you decide to temporarily deviate from your heating programme: comfort mode, energy-saving mode and holiday mode. Comfort mode will heat your rooms to optimum levels when comfort is a priority, energy-saving mode heats rooms to a reduced level for economical warmth, and holiday mode ensures your heating only comes on when temperatures fall below a pre-set level to prevent your pipes from freezing.
Control isn’t just limited to the thermostat – each receiver has an in-built boost function to provide a 1-hour temporary increase in temperature, without affecting any of your settings. In the event that your room temperature suddenly drops because of an open window or door, the iQ thermostat is programmed to cut power to the heaters, preventing them from using excessive amounts of energy as they try to heat a rapidly cooling room. However, if you want to override the open window detection feature, you can do so by using the heat boost feature on each receiver or through the thermostat menu.
The Herschel iQ thermostat has a large, easy-read screen to make adjusting your system as simple as possible. The thermostat is accurate to ± 0.5 °C and can control temperatures between 5 – 30 °C, making it ideal for most home and commercial applications. A 1 Year Manufacturer’s Warranty is included as standard.
This Herschel iQ wireless thermostat kit contains one receiver, although each thermostat is able to control an unlimited number of receivers. The receivers are able to support a maximum load of 10 Amps (2300W in a standard 230V supply), however, a 8.5 Amp (1955W at 230V) continuous load is recommended if you're going to be using your heaters often. Each heater in your system must be hardwired into an iQ receiver. If you want to create separate heating schedules for different areas of your home, you will need to purchase an additional thermostat. Alternatively, if you want to be able to control your heaters remotely, the iQ MD2 WiFi-Controlled Thermostat is a hardwired option which allows you to control your heaters via the Smart Life app.
Each thermostat uses a different radio frequency, so if you do decide to use multiple thermostats within your home, there will be no risk of confusion between each signal and the receivers.
