This hardwired thermostat must be installed by a professional electrician. It is not suitable for DIY fitting. Your electrician will require a 46mm single gang deep pattress box and access to the mains supply which will power your heaters.
Ensure the thermostat is positioned in a location that will provide an accurate temperature reading. Keep away from hot or cold spots. The unit is not suitable for use in bathrooms.

This Herschel thermostat comes with a 2 year manufacturer’s warranty. Please be aware that the warranty does not cover use with any non-Herschel heater.

The Herschel iQ MD2 Thermostat provides a WiFi-controllable option for your infrared installation. This hardwired thermostat is designed to be wall mounted and wired directly to your infrared panels or heaters, where it offers easy control either in-room, through the intuitive touchscreen display, or online, using the popular Smart Life app.
With the MD2 you can control your heating on any device from anywhere in the world. On your tablet or your smartphone, travelling home on the bus or catching a train to the airport, as long as you’ve got a WiFi connection, you can communicate with your panels. The app also integrates effortlessly with Amazon Alexa and Google Home voice control, making it easier than ever before to adjust your heating when you’re on the go.
It’s not all about the app. If you want to program and adjust settings without recourse to smart devices, that’s easy too. The MD2’s intuitive touchscreen display allows you to set programs, with four independent heat periods available per day; adjust temperatures; switch between manual, program and eco, the three energy-saving modes; and prevent mischievous fingers from following suit by engaging the handy childlock. A generous set temperature range of up to 45 °C makes the MD2 suitable for a wide range of applications, both domestic and commercial. It’s uniquely suited for the high temperatures of hot yoga, where it’s best paired with a suite of no glare far infrared heaters.
Designed for hardwired installation, the MD2 provides a solid install option with no loose controllers that’s a first choice in new builds. With an amp limit of 16A, the thermostat can handle a combined wattage of up to 3600w. You’ll need a qualified electrician on hand to mount the unit into a recessed cable box and complete the connections to the mains and to your heaters.
