You only need basic DIY knowledge to mount your Herschel Inspire panels. When wall-mounting your panels, you can use the template provided to drill holes and fix the brackets to the walls; then all you have to do is plug the panels into a convenient socket.
When it comes to connecting your panels to the mains, you can either fit a plug on the end of the cable – the best option if you want to be able to move the panels later – or have them hardwired by a professional electrician. Hardwiring into the mains is not a DIY job.
Herschel Inspire panels are suitable for use in bathrooms, provided they are hardwired by a professional electrician in an appropriate location. The panels are IP54 rated, which means they are protected against splashing water. Always defer to the manufacturer’s guidelines about the bathroom suitability of any product.
We always recommend installing your panels with thermostatic controls. A thermostat will control the heat output of your panel, ensuring your rooms stay at the right temperature without wasting energy. A thermostat with programming functionality will also allow you to schedule your heating, helping you save energy by heating only occupied rooms. The Herschel iQ system is a great choice for Inspire panels, giving you thermostat control from one central location. Herschel iQ receivers must be hardwired, however alternative plug-in controllers are available.

Due to its weight, this item is delivered on a pallet. Pallet deliveries are charged at just £39.99 per order. This charge covers every item on your order, no matter how many items you purchase. All pallets are delivered roadside so please be aware you will need someone on hand to sign for the delivery and move the item into your property. To avoid injury, we strongly recommend having 2 or more people for the lifting.
Please be aware that delivery times and charges may be increased if you want the items delivered to addresses in the Scottish Highlands & Islands, or outside the UK mainland. This will be calculated when you enter your postcode at the checkout.

Herschel Inspire Glass panels are designed for wall mounting, providing attractive focal points which fit easily into any interior design scheme. Boasting an ultra-slimline depth of just 25mm, these glossy panels fit almost flush with the wall and make minimal intrusion into the room. The panels do reach temperatures of 85 – 95 °C, so please be sure to hang the panels only in locations where they will not pose a risk to children or vulnerable adults.
Inspire panels can be wall mounted DIY with only a few basic tools, and by fitting a plug to the cable, you can even install them yourself with minimal effort. However, if you prefer a wire-free finish or want to use your heater in a bathroom, you can also have them hardwired by a professional electrician.

Thermostats & Controllers
Herschel Inspire panels do not come with in-built controls. This is to protect the lifespan of the products, which will usually extend for decades, well beyond the 10-year manufacturer’s warranty. Rugged and durable, with no moving parts, your Herschel Inspire panels should outlive any digital components. It’s for this reason that we sell thermostats, timers and programmers separately. Your controllers wire in separately, and you can replace them as many times as you want without damaging the panels. This also gives you the freedom to choose exactly how you want to control your panels – collectively or individually, automatically or manually, remotely or directly.
We always recommend installing your panels with a programmable thermostat. Thermostats monitor and maintain temperatures, whilst programmers allow you to set each panel to a heating schedule with different temperatures at different times of the day. This will drastically reduce your energy usage, and ensures your rooms are comfortable whenever you need them. Infrared panels with thermostatic controls can be up to 60% more efficient than traditional convection heating systems.
