The Ecostrad Solaglo is suitable for DIY installation when connected to a plug socket with an appropriate IP rating. Permanently installing the Solaglo outside will require the services of a professional electrician, as the heater must be hardwired to the mains.
It is possible to use the brackets provided to ceiling mount the Solaglo. For more information, please see the installation instructions in the manual. Please ensure that the Solaglo is installed more than 180cm from the floor and 40cm away from any adjacent surfaces.
The IP55 rating of this patio heater means the Solaglo is protected from the ingress of fine particles and is resistant to low pressure jets of water. This rating is more than suitable enough for the majority of outdoor installations.

The Ecostrad Solaglo is a stylish, lightweight and efficient patio heating solution that uses infrared to create effective warmth for outdoor spaces. The Solaglo produces a 2000w output of strong, near infrared radiant heat that can heat an outdoor area of up to 9m2 and an indoor area of up to 14m2. Multiple heaters can also be used to ensure that even in larger outdoor spaces or commercial areas you can still experience comfortable warmth on those colder nights. With an IP55 weatherproof protection rating, the Solaglo is the perfect choice for your patio heating needs as it delivers reliable protection, so you can install it outdoors with confidence.
Infrared Heating Technology
One of the best features of the Ecostrad Solaglo is its attractive contemporary design. Inside its glossy silver housing is a specially coated tungsten filament HeLeN bulb which is capable of providing robust heat in seconds.
Tungsten elements get to such high temperatures in order to produce near infrared that they give off a bright light when in use, however, the reflectors on the inside of the heater body and the gold coating on the Solaglo’s HeLeN bulb reduce this to a pleasant glow – almost like a small sunset in your own back garden. Though the tungsten element gets very hot, the reflectors on the inside of the heater ensure that any heat is projected outwards, ensuring the rest of the product casing is kept cool.
